How You Can Help
Make a DonationBecome A Volunteer

01. Adopt

Please Adopt, Don’t Shop! Finding homes for the cats and dogs in our care is our top priority. Every dog or cat adopted is a life saved and opens up more precious shelter space for the next adoptable pet.

02. Become A Member

Becoming a member is a great way to show your support for AHS. Membership allows you to get more involved. Members can be as involved as they wish, but are not required to do anything extra.

03. Walk Your Dog

Use the free app Walk for a dog and earn donations for AHS simply by walking your dog. The more people walk for AHS the more Wooftrax will donate. The app is available for Apple or Android..

04. Dog Treats

Purchase AHS Homemade Dog Treats available at multiple locations in Anderson County. All proceeds benefit our low cost Spay & Neuter Program for pets in Anderson County!

05. Foster

When the shelter is full, we need foster homes to keep the cats and dogs at the county shelter out of danger of euthanasia. When we are full, we are unable to take in anymore needy pets and this could put their lives at risk. Contact us for our current foster needs.

06. Give A Bed

Quality rest reduces stress in adoptable pets. When pets sleep better, they behave better! Kuranda shelter beds are long-lasting and easy to clean making them ideal for the shelter environment. The gift of essential rest is a great way to help the pets at AHS.

07. Monetary Donations

AHS receives no Federal, State, or County funding. All AHS donations are tax-deductible and essential. Thanks to our generous supporters, we’re able to save lives. Monetary donations, large or small, are absolutely vital to our success.

08. Save Your Cans

Anderson Humane collect aluminum cans for recycling to help fund the care of the cats and dogs at the Adoption Center. Save your aluminum cans for us and make a difference in the lives of the pets in our care.

09. Shop

Do you shop at Kroger or order products off Amazon? Did you know simply doing your normal shopping can benefit AHS and cost you nothing extra? Check out some of these free ways you can help the dogs and cats here at the Adoption Center.

10. Spay & Neuter

If it weren’t for the unwanted litters born every year, pet overpopulation would not be a problem. Our Spay & Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) offers all Anderson County residents access to low cost surgeries. There’s no excuse: It’s hip to snip!

11. Sponsor

Unable to adopt? Sponsor an adoption fee! After an adoption has been placed, you’ll be notified that your donation helped a pet find a loving home. Opportunities for Event Sponsorships are available too. Help your business reach a new audience, while making a difference!

12. Volunteer

We rely on our volunteers. We simply could not accomplish our life-saving mission without the dedication and service of our supporters. There are a lot of different ways to get involved. Volunteering can make you feel good and makes a big difference in pet care.
